We know that the knowledge of our Officers is key to the successful delivery of Security. That is why SSGC are the first Manned Guarding company to enrol 100% of its Officers into a reward based personal development program.

Our mission was simple; to develop a training system that allows all Security Officers to access bite sized training during their quiet moments on shift. Thus, creating a culture of personal development that will ultimately lead to a level of professionalism previously not seen on mass within the industry.

2018 sees the introduction of a formal learning objective set for all SSGC security officers. We aim to ensure that all Security Officers will be able to within 1 years service:

  1. Have good recall on correct patrolling

  2. Understand what a trespasser is and take the correct action

  3. Understand their powers of arrest in Law

  4. Identify the points to prove to allow a successful prosecution for theft

  5. Know the anti terror hotline

  6. Be able to relay the latest advice on how to survive an active shooter incident

  7. Be able to give examples of good customer service

 

We are well along the way. This years results are amazing. We have enrolled 241 delegates, all engaged on 11 modules of e-learning over a 12-month period. 85% have passed at least one module. Training is now embedded within our service delivery system and we now enjoy a culture of personal development.

We are extremely proud of our Academy and our faith in this solution has been underlined by the Security Excellence Awards who have listed us as finalists in 2018.
