SSGC recognised for commitment to disabled workforce

We are over the moon to have been recognised for our commitment to recruiting and retraining people with disabilities and helping them become an integral part of our business.

SSGC has been certified as a disability-confident employer by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), recognising our commitment to making the most of the talents disabled people can bring to a workplace.

Recruit and retrain

The DWP’s disability confident scheme aims to help employers successfully recruit and retrain disabled people and those with health conditions.

As part of this certification, we have pledged to ensure our recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible, and will actively promote vacancies and offer interviews to disabled people.

The business has also committed to implement procedures to provide adjustments for our entire workforce, whether they are new starters or existing staff members who have become disabled or developed a long-term health condition.

Workplace diversity

Our CEO, David Stubbs: “As a business we have always been committed to workplace diversity and have always gone above and beyond to provide equal opportunities to all potential candidates.

“Our dedication to social value has been rubberstamped by awards for several initiatives, including our commitment to the veteran community and helping those battling complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) secure long-term employment post-deployment.

“We are delighted to join businesses around the country in leading the way in changing attitudes for the better and look forward to attracting the widest pool of talent possible now we have received this certification.”
