We have further cemented our support to the military community by joining forces with the British Forces Resettlement Service (BFRS), an organisation set up to support the armed forces community by introducing them to companies looking to hire, re-train or offer career advice.

BFRS runs jobs fairs across the UK, which are attended by an average of 600 personnel from the armed forces community and feature more than 60 exhibitors.

BFRS managing director Neil Dean said: “Many of our exhibitors recognise the wealth of experience and valuable skillsets that ex-military personnel have.

“We are seeing more and more companies sign up and we are delighted SSGC has partnered with us to exhibit at our face-to-face events and advertise its vacancies on our website.”

Work with veterans

A signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we employ more than 500 veterans and help many combat physical and mental challenges as they settle back into life after service.

During the first national lockdown, we worked with the Yorkshire Regiment to deploy staff to marshal Covid-19 testing centres around the country – many of who were veterans.

Embedded in our company values

CEO, David Stubbs said: “Support for the armed forces community is embedded in our company values and the partnership with BFRS is a very natural one for us.”
